Our Facilities and Administration groups provide the services, expertise, and organizational support that create the conditions for our researchers and the institute as a whole to thrive.
Our Facilities department ensures that AMOLF’s building, technical infrastructure, and facility services meet the needs of its research and provide a reliable, well-functioning working environment.
What
- Manage and maintain AMOLF’s building, laboratories, technical installations, and inventory
- Maintain, modify, and replace technical installations to meet changing research needs
- Ensure that laboratories have the technical infrastructure required for experimental research
- Manage facility services such as cleaning and provide 24/7 support for technical issues
How
- Work closely with research group leaders to translate research requirements into appropriate laboratory facilities and technical solutions
- Advise research groups on connecting experimental setups to technical installations and on laboratory layouts
- Optimize the building management system to achieve the required laboratory conditions
- Combine in-house technical and facility expertise with external partners and service providers
- Manage facility and building-related budgets to ensure effective operation and long-term maintenance of AMOLF’s infrastructure
