AMOLF research is carried out with an extensive network of partners.
The majority of AMOLF group leaders is associated with one of the Dutch
Universities as a part-time professor. Many other links with institutes
and universities in and outside the Netherlands exist. In addition, AMOLF
carries out several research projects in collaboration with industrial
partners. Presently, AMOLF is partner in Industrial Partnership
Programmes with Philips, FEI Company, and Shell. A formal contract exists
with Unilever.

Philips
Group leader Dr. Jaime Gómez Rivas research group Nanowire Photonics bridges the gap between science and industry by conducting their research into the optical characteristics of nano wires in the Philips labs op de High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.

Unilever
At the start of 2007, AMOLF and Unilever signed a research contract in the field of 'functional foods'. The purpose of the research that is done in collaboration with Unilever is to gain insight into the interaction between micelles and membranes.

Shell
Recently, AMOLF group leader Ad Lagendijk obtained a grant for a project within an Industrial Partnership Programme of FOM with Shell. By combining optical and acoustic concepts, researchers hope to gain control of the propogation of sound in disorderly media, with applications in seismics.
